Might be slightly slow to operate, though. Heh, yeah, my brother had the same thought. Might be slightly slow to operate, though.

Very retro chic. I would not be opposed to a click-wheel/rotary-dial hybrid. Very retro chic.

Apple is sticking its foot in a puddle of mud that's been splashed over and over already. I know what I'm buying this Christmas - not this phone. Very slick, I love your footer as well, my only gripe I guess would be the corner graphic, seems a bit, well completely out of place. Back on topic, I've got several memorable experiences at Uni, however from a course pov one of the most memorable times was a lecture we had by someone at philips. He was telling us about the future of electronics and how they're going, and traditionally how they're designed to be 10 years ahead of when they're going to release the actual products themselves. This was nearly 5 years ago, and he was then talking about the Terrabit coming out in 2010. A single storage device that could potentially hold more than you could accumilate in all your life. Well at least that's what they thought 5 years ago. Now I wouldn't be so sure that statistic was correct. He talked about multi-layered terrabits, and the need for them (3d television, which apparently was up and running 5 years ago), but that it was the responsibility of our generation. You can imagine what an electronics geek like me felt heaing all this. Great stuff. Nah man I really love the comment form. He said that within ten years we'd have mobiles the size of a credit card which were thin, flexible, and all screen---no physical buttons at all. I was sceptical at the time, but with the "Philips Readius prototype":http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000000056818/ out there, I'm beginning to think he was right. Actually, while I suspect you're probably correct about Apple and the US phone market, it does mean that (given that they are, at least, dabbling their toes in the water) they have the opportunity to defy that history and become more of an international company, moving on opportunities wherever they happen to present themselves. It doesn't seem likely, but it will certainly interesting to see how things develop from here. Thanks for the kind words on the comments form; I was a little worried that the form would seem to float free of the design, especially with the indented paragraph just above the textarea. Still, design neurosis is rather my stock in trade. :) When I went for an interview at the University of Warwick, about three and a half years ago now, the professor who showed me round was a materials physicist. You raise some pretty interesting concepts regarding to a complete touch screen phone. No need for the actual buttons, or at the very least 1 button just to activate the actual 'numbers pad'. Actually I really like that idea, and while the current technology isn't really there yet (although I know for a fact that they've got that stuff working in the labs), it's a question of when/if they decide to release it really. I don't think Apple will storm the mobile phone industry, simply because it's main base of operations is the states, a country that isn't really known for it's mobile phone industry, more lack of that industry. Also just wanted to say that I love your comments form, very cool. Damn Benedict, and here I thought I wrote mammoth posts, I have finally found my master.
