Memes are something I’ve written about, somewhat scornfully. In a shameless display of hypocrisy, here are my nine sets of four things, via Angela Rutherford. Doubtless I’ll regret it in the morning.
Four jobs I’ve had
- Lab technician, doing Raman spectroscopy.
- Network technician and general computer-maintenance chap.
- Carpenter, in a sense; I built some decking in our back garden one summer.
- Web developer… still doing this one.
Four films I can watch over and over
- The Empire Strikes Back
- Blade Runner
- Seven Samurai
- The Godfather and The Godfather part II (if Sight and Sound can count them as one, so can I)
Four places I’ve lived
- St. Margarets, Greater London
- Ottawa, Canada
- Teddington, Greater London
- Bristol
Four TV shows I enjoy
- The West Wing
- Battlestar Galactica
- Cold War: From Yalta to Malta
- Spaced (and where has the third series of that got to?)
Four places I’ve been on holiday
- Devon
- Tadoussac
- The Lake District
- Algonquin Park
Four of my favourite foods
- Lasagne
- Lemon Meringue Pie
- Sushi
- Brioche
Four sites I visit daily
Four places I’d rather be right now
- Kyoto
- Paris
- Mt. Kilimanjaro
- The Alhambra

You used to live in Ottawa, eh? Isn’t that a hoot.

I feel the same way about memes, so I went ahead and did the only reasonable thing: I filled it out, but only three of each! Take that, ‘blogosphere’.

For about six months, yeah, when I was five.

Thanks for picking up the baton, Benedict. I visit your site occasionally and really like your content (and fish), even though I’ve never left my mark by adding a comment. I agree with you to some extent regarding your scorn for memes. However, I thought, what the hell, I’m new to this. I was actually quite shy to list you as one of the four bloggers to tag since I’ve never introduced myself to you in the blogosphere by way of commenting. Nonetheless, hope there isn’t too much regret in the morning.

I always enjoy discovering that I actually have readers; so no, not too much regret. :)
